What is UNTP?

The United Nations Transparency Protocol (UNTP) is a standard developed for secure and verifiable sharing of digital product information in international trade. This protocol enables seamless data exchange between different countries and systems.

Verifiable Credentials

The Verifiable Credentials standard developed by W3C ensures digital identity information has:

  • Cryptographic security: Protection with digital signatures
  • Immutability: Guaranteed data integrity
  • Instant verification: Control without need for central authority
  • Interoperability: Compatibility with different systems

DID:web Protocol

IDIPP uses the DID:web (Decentralized Identifier) protocol to:

  1. Provide decentralized identity verification
  2. Offer security without requiring blockchain
  3. Work with standard web infrastructure
  4. Support easy key management and rotation

JWT-VC Format

JSON Web Token Verifiable Credential format offers these advantages:

  • Compact and URL-safe structure
  • Easy sharing via QR code
  • ECDSA P-256 digital signature support
  • Compatibility with common JWT libraries

IDIPP and UNTP Compliance

The IDIPP platform creates digital product passports fully compliant with the UNTP standard. This enables:

  • Data sharing in internationally accepted format
  • Independent verification capability
  • Ease in customs and inspection processes
  • Global supply chain integration
